In far western New York, increased streamflows improved Severe Drought (D2) conditions to Moderate Drought (D1) conditions in Genesee and Wyoming counties. In New York, Long Island was lifted out of Abnormally Dry (D0) conditions. The Northeast has only a few pockets of Abnormally Dry (D0), Moderate Drought (D1), and Severe Drought (D2) conditions. Improvements were seen from southwest New York southward into West Virginia. Heavy precipitation fell over the Northeast. Lack of precipitation and low SWE in higher elevations have left areas of Montana and Arizona worse off than last week. The West saw few improvements, except for New Mexico. Central, eastern and southern Midwest largely missed precipitation, causing deterioration in eastern Ohio, southern Indiana and Illinois, and eastern and northern Kentucky where groundwater and streamflow remain low. ![]() The north-central Midwest had some improvements from the same storm that benefited the High Plains. Northern Colorado and Wyoming experienced deterioration without the benefit of the precipitation that fell further east and low snow water equivalent (SWE). Northeastern Colorado into eastern Nebraska had some improvement. The High Plains benefited from a rain and snow weather system that moved through the area before the new year. ![]() The South remained the same as last week, with small areas of deterioration from northeast Texas into southwestern Arkansas, and north and central Louisiana.Ī small part of southeastern Louisiana and southern Mississippi saw minor improvements. The southern part of the Southeast did not benefit from any of the precipitation that fell elsewhere along the Atlantic coast, bringing further degradations to an already very dry part of the country. Further south along the Mid-Atlantic, 150% to 300% of normal precipitation fell, bringing improvements in Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. The Northeast remained largely unchanged from last week, with minor improvements in western New York, Pennsylvania and central Maryland where precipitation was 150% to 300% of normal. A large storm system brought rain and snow to the Pacific and Atlantic coasts along with rain and snow in the eastern High Plains and Midwest. ![]()

![]() ![]() If branding is important to you, it's worth considering services like Rebrandly or T2M, which offer custom shortened URLs. Therefore, if you don't want the service to sell your data to someone, you should read the privacy policy before using it.įunctionality. No one is immune from such services beginning to sell their users' data to third parties one day. Different link shorteners offer various features, which may be more or less suitable for specific requirements and purposes. The ideal URL shortener is secure, functional, and affordable. These measures may include virus and malware scanning, warnings about suspicious sites, and blocking malicious links. Many modern URL shorteners implement security measures to protect users. This increases user trust as they see a familiar brand in the URL. Some services allow you to choose URLs for shortened links for example, you can add a company name there. In addition, shortened URLs are easier to remember and share with others. ![]() They fit easily into text messages, social media posts and promo materials, making the content visually appealing. Shortened URLs, however, are much more compact and aesthetically pleasing. Long URLs are often bulky and difficult to understand. One of the main functions of URL shorteners is to improve the look of links. Let's take a look at the benefits these tools have. Link shorteners are tools that not only simplify long and complex web addresses but also provide new opportunities for businesses and individual users. For example, a shortened URL for a marketing campaign might include the brand name or campaign keyword. Some link shorteners generate them randomly, while others allow users to set shortened URLs. There are various algorithms for generating unique identifiers in shortened URLs. ![]() Thus, the shortened URL instantly directs the user to the desired page. This is achieved by finding the corresponding long URL associated with the short link's unique identifier. When a user follows a shortened link, the service automatically redirects him to the original long URL. This unique identifier is associated with the original URL in the service database. The service generates a unique identifier, which becomes part of the new, short link. Initially, the user enters a long URL into the shortener. To make your link shorter, you need to follow a couple of simple steps. By using URL shorteners, you can make short links from long and awkward URLs. What is a link shortener?Ī short link creation service is a site that allows you to shorten any link, and it will work the same as the original long one. In this article, we'll compare popular URL shorteners and look at the benefits of each. Now, concise links are important for everyday use on social networks and for business. Using link shorteners has long ceased to be a trend or temporary need. In addition, UTM tags built into URL shorteners provide valuable analytics: number of clicks, geographic distribution of users, and traffic source, which is undoubtedly vital for marketing and content optimization. Short links help maintain brand professionalism, help get around character limits in twitter, and make the text more visually appealing. Shortened URLs are easier to perceive and remember once the reader sees them, they are more likely to click on the link. At first glance, it may seem that a short link is just a matter of convenience, but in reality, it carries much more meaning. ![]() ![]() ![]() For these the Crop "only overscan" will do just fine. ![]() ![]() The new ‘+’ buttons next to headers in the sidebar seem to serve the same purpose, anyway. ![]() There’s a persistent toolbar spanning the bottom of the screen that only has three buttons in it, can we just get the Home button back where it used to be? Personally I don’t understand why the big ‘+’ button is even there, there’s no equivalent in the desktop app and I never use it because I’m usually adding items at the end of a list. (Except as with the navigation section, even that won’t reliably be in the same location if I have scrolled the sidebar view.) – I though adding ‘Home’ to my starred pages might be an adequate workaround, but it seems we still cannot re-order starred pages? Do I have that right? So it seems the best I could do is to wipe out all my starred pages, recreate them with ‘Home’ at the top of the list, which would still mean my best way to get ‘Home’ is to tap a button in extreme left-bottom corner or the screen, then tap a button in the extreme left-top corner of the screen. – The navigation breadcrumb on top of the screen isn’t helpful for this, because (unlike on desktop) ‘Home’ scrolls off-screen once you get more than one or two levels deep. If it was tappable, it would at least be somewhat ergonomically-convenient as it’s near the bottom of the sidebar where the hamburger button is, except it’s never going to be in the same place if I actually make use of the sidebar navigation and scroll/expand views therein. – At first I thought the new ‘Home’ header for the navigation section of the sidebar might serve a similar purpose, but this header is the one entry in the navigation list that *can’t* be tapped to browse to it. But now I don’t seem to have any convenient way to get to my top-level lists, though I’ve tried to figure out several alternatives: I see the utility of the sidebar for reorganizing lists, but that’s something I do far less frequently than referencing my top-level lists (and would probably always elect to wait and do so on the desktop app, anyway). Now, that button has been removed and the ‘Sidebar’ hamburger button has taken its place. ![]() There used to be a ‘Home’ button in the bottom corner that made this dead simple, from any view in the app. I didn’t bother to pipe up when that feature rolled out because I was hopeful there would be some refinements in subsequent updates or I would discover some trick I overlooked, but unfortunately the rollout of the sidebar has massively broken Workflowy’s utility for me.Ĭlearly I’m in the minority, but I use the iOS app 90% of the time, and the backbone of my workflow is being able to quickly navigate back to the Home screen, where I have all my most-commonly used lists and tags organized in a way that makes sense for me. To be fair this comment really belongs on the ‘Fancy New Left Bar’ post, but comments there have been closed. I’m sure this is nice for desktop users, but as someone who mostly uses the iOS app I need to voice my frustration at the recent changes to Workflowy that mostly or only benefit desktop users, whilst functionality has been crippled on mobile. ![]() ![]() More: I've got sshd-keygen-wrapper and Macupdate in FDA, both unchecked. (Any idea why your list formatting wasn't honored?) Based on that, I'll guess that with or without its box being checked, any app or function that gets to that pane has got FDA. It was somehow done from within the app itself. It went to "Accessibility" with the broad request "Grant KensingtonWorksHelper" access to your Mac" (without saying what it wants access to)…On point, though, I can confidently say that it's not necessary for the FDA box to be checked, because for the longest time, CCC definitely had FDA without its box being checked.without ever sending me to Security & Privacy > Privacy to take action. ![]() If the plutil doesn't not have full disk access, what does that imply about the effectiveness of these other apps when they are supposedly checking property list files? Does Apple know? Do the third party developers know? Can the third party apps override the exclusion? There is no question that is why several well known and widely used third party apps can't get into the App Store. For example plutil is the unix app that checks the syntax of property list files (.plist) and is used in a number of utilities such as OnyX, Cocktail, TinkerTool System, and MacPilot. This leads me to wonder about those Apple apps that are left off of the self authorized list. Which makes sense because without "self authorization" there are lots of bits, parts, and pieces of macOS that would start life disabled and potentially the function to enable the app would also be disabled. That said, it would appear the majority of Apple Apps are "self authorized". They've all "checked themselves in."I just checked Full Disk Access and among the Apple apps that have requested Full Disk Access, but have not "checked themselves in" (if by that you mean authorized themselves by checking the check box) I find.
